1. Software needed
------------------
To design ships for Space Dementia, you need the program Edit3D v0.95.
!! This is not the standard version but a modified one !!

To begin a new model, launch Edit3D.

2. Choose an orientation
------------------------
 The first thing to do is to choose the good orientation for your ship and to respect it during the creation of the model.
 If you original orientation in Edit3D is wrong, the ship will not be correctly oriented in the game.

 It is simple : The TOP view of Edit3D correspond actually to the top view fo your ship.
 In the TOP view, your ship should look like this :

 TOP view :
 +-----------------------+
 |			 |
 |      =o-		 | Y
 |	====\		 |  o---> X
 |     |========]==>-	 |  |
 |	====/		 |  |
 |      =o-		 |  Z
 |			 |
 +-----------------------+

 The nose of the ship should be on the x-axis.

3. Build your model,
--------------------
Like you would do usually with Edit3D.
For more information, refer to the Help file of Edit3D.

The size you have to give to your ship in the editor so that he will be correctly sized in the game is approximatively the same it appear in the game. At the beggining, make small ships and try to find the good proportions, then you can start bigger models.
Remenber that if you ship is too big, you won't be able to fly through the rings in training mode.

Try to minimize the number of points and lines of the ship, because big models slow dramatically the game.
I recommand if possible not to go over 70 points/70 lines.
Worstly 80 points/100 lines if you want the game be playable with your ship.

4. Save your file.
------------------
When your ship is finished, if you wish, you can save it under the 3DX format ("F1 - Save").
Then you would be able to open the file later.

5. Place the canons.
--------------------
Then you have to place the canons on the ship, the points where lasers start in the game.
To do that, select "F3 - Select Canons".
It is recomanded to choose symetrical points but you can do what you want.
The program ask you to select two points that already exist in the model.
If you want the lasers to start from places where there are no line, put single points there before.

6. Export your file.
--------------------
Then you have to export your file so that Space Dementia can recognize it and import the ship.
Select "F1 - Export as ship", and a name fo the file.
A file with that name will be created, with an extention SHIP.

!! You cannot open it from Edit3D. It can only be read by the Space Dementia program !!

7. That's all.
--------------
Now, run Space Dementia, start a new game and in the ship selection screen, the external ships that are present on the calc are automatically added at the end of the list. Select one like you would do for another ship and enjoy !!!

If you think you have made good ships, both nice and not to heavy, send them to moitib_calliope@hotmail.com.
